Basic Function and Scope of the Position:
Primary
responsibilities are to ensure security and accuracy of inventory
control by overseeing movement to and from the stockroom and all
inventory transactions. Supervise Inventory Control personnel.
Accountable for accurate, detailed, current inventory for raw material,
WIP and finished goods.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Ensure
the maintenance of inventory of designated raw materials and
manufacturing supplies in the stockroom and manufacturing kanbans to
support the production schedule.
• Ensure cycle counts are
performed according to procedures. Coordinate counts with departments
accountable for inventory. Verify clerical computations against physical
count of stock and adjust errors or investigate and report reasons for
discrepancies. Generate variance reports for review by Materials
Management and Finance as required.
• Ensure accurate and timely
delivery of inventory and transactions from the stock room to the
production floor (oligos, arrays, reagents and instruments) and
laboratories, material scrap, issues to departments and work orders.
Troubleshoot and resolve data entry errors and discrepancies.
• Coordinate internal issues and shipments with Planning and Shipping.
• Support the accountability and pick-up of non-stock requisitions
• Coordinate with Production and Engineering to ensure validity of BOM’s to correctly reflect material usage.
• Participate in Material Review Board and coordinate disposition of discrepant materials with Purchasing.
• Generate and distribute all daily/weekly inventory reports. (cycle count, scrap, inventory valuation, inventory turns, etc..)
• Suggest and implement improvements to inventory system.
Preferred Educational Background:
•
Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 years experience in inventory control in a
manufacturing/scientific research environment or an equivalent
combination of education, training and work experience. Fresh graduates
are welcomed to apply!
Preferred Experiential Background:
• . Must have a thorough knowledge of inventory management, production control, planning Engineering Change Control, and MRB.
•
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems( JDE preferred), spreadsheets, database
and word processing software, storekeeping and inventory control
procedures, etc.
• Familiar with GMP’s and ISO 13485 certification.
Competencies :
• Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented.
•
Effective verbal and written communication, analytical and
interpersonal skills with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to interface well with cross-functional teammates. |
